Gotta think he'll be getting a call, he raised up into Stoll, and he's got a history.
This is really the key. If he goes through Stoll, it's a devastating yet clean hit. But nooooooooo, Raffi just can't check himself and has to lead upwards.
Exactly right. Hospital or no, Brown's just as dirty. - Team_Teal
Brown is no where near as dirty as Torres. At least some of the tine when Brown delivers a big hit its clean. Every single big hit Torres thrrows is dirty. I hope Torrres is done. Not just for the playoffs but forever.
Any team that employs Torres deserves thr Curse of Raffi !
CURSE OF RAFFI = No Stanley Cups ever.... Vancouver, Phoenix, SanJose....

Brown is dirty, but yes nowhere near as dirty as torres. Torres hsould have been thrown out forever after the Hossa hit...then again Bertuzzi should have been thrown out after his punch to the back of the guys head years ago...
That being said, this hit wasn't dirty, it was a hard hit to the shoulder. If you don't like this, you don't like hitting in hockey. If Penner were to have thrown this hit, it wouldn't even be a story other than "woah, did you see that hit!"

What it looked like to me was a guy got hit in the head frim behind again. If you sayn it was shoulder maybe you've seen a HD version of the play. I saw the replaybon youtube.
I really dislike Torres as much as the next guy, but a suspension would be on rep alone. Stoll was hunched over and saw Torres coming. I just can't call it a dirty play. Reverse jerseys and we would all be calling it a solid hit.
Reminds me a lot of Dustin Brown... hitting guys in vulnerable positions with borderline hits.
Don't think it would require a suspension.. league will probably give him 20 games though. - kneughter
You've got a point, but I can't help thinking Torres is more on the "dark side" of dirty hitting. The guy has a bad history playing like he did last night.
At any rate, are you going to be doing the Kings blogs from now on as well? Looks like we need a writer.

If you're going with "today's" NHL it should be a suspension. He hit under the side of the chin, not shoulder to shoulder. Sure was a lot easier back in the day to know what's a fair hit and what's not!

I know, but going at full speed we are now asking players to judge inches within a fraction of a second when making a hit. I would much rather it be gauged on intent, but so be it.
I keep thinking of the Stevens/Kariya open ice hit, at the time the definition of a solid hit, and how that could be a 10 gamer these days.
